💃🧵Learn how to self draft a shirred dress. 👗
Step1: measure the largest part of Your bust.
Step 2: measure down from the top of your bust. Add 3” FOR hemming.
Step 3: cut 2 pieces of light weight woven fabric.
Step 4: cut 2 x 3” x 15” pieces for optional strap
Step 5: hem the top of your dress first. Choose your own hem size.

Prepare your machine to shirring
Step 1: Wind your bobbin with elastic thread.
Step 2: Place the bobbin in your machine, ensuring the elastic is in the tension disks.
Step 3: Use the hand crank to pull up the elastic thread along with the top thread.
Step 4: Crank up the tension on your machine.
Step 5: Increase the stitch length substantially.
🔍 Pro Tip: Your fabric's weight and texture can affect tension and stitch length. Always test on scrap fabric before diving into your final project!
