What makes for a successful ritual? And how does one approach writing a ritual “from scratch?” Drawing from practical experience and formal study, Emerald will teach participants how to craft an effective ritual using a top-down approach. We will also explore the liturgist's tool kit and how to use those tools in ritual for both groups and individuals and for a variety of ritual purposes.
Presenter: Diane “Emerald” Bronowicz
Emerald has been writing and leading Pagan rituals since 1998. She has presented this workshop at the Trillium Gathering, Midnight Flame Festival, and the Wellspring Gathering, and she is excited to share her experience with the greater ADF community via this online format.
Emerald currently serves as Senior Druid of Sassafras Grove in Pittsburgh and has served previously as Liturgical Director, Archivist, and Scribe. She has served ADF in various roles including Chief of the Bardic Guild, Chief of the Hellenic Kin, and Bard Laureate. Along with being a key liturgist for her Grove and covens, Emerald has written and facilitated both ADF and Wiccan rituals in venues including The Wellspring Gathering, The Trillium Gathering, Desert Magic, Sirius Rising and other Brushwood Folklore Center events, and in the Greater Pittsburgh Pagan community. Emerald earned a BA in History and Theatre Arts from Boston College and a Master’s in Education from Duquesne University. She is currently working on ADF's Initiate Program.
