In a short summary, when Carmen was younger, a large forest fire destroyed her home. When trying to run off, fire burnt the right side of her face. She stopped when a wolf stood in front of her calmly. The wolf welcomed Carmen into their pack. Other wolves didn't trust her, so they were rude to her. All but one wolf named Kuruk. He stood up for her, and they became good friends.
