Cowabunga Corner #81: TMNT II Review @CowabungaCorner

Hey everyone,

Welcome to episode 3 of Cowabunga Corner Season 4. In this episode I review Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. This film came out in March 1991 and was a smashing hit around the world. The costumes were done by Jim Henson's Creature shop, the new mutants Tokka and Rahzar was introduced, and the movie was in memory of Jim Henson.

I first saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II at a sneak preview put on by the DARE program. It was the Saturday before the film reached the theaters. I really enjoyed it and still enjoy watching the movie to this day. With how many interviews this season and last season has from people who've worked on TMNT II, I felt it would only be proper to get a review in of this film.

$CCN: IDW Nick TMNT interview Kenny Byerly There are few people in the entertainment industry which can say theyve worked on more than one media of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Those who have been able to put this upon their resume, usually have a bit of a gap between their work. Matt Hill went from TMNT 3 to the Next Mutation, Robbie Rist went from the TMNT movies to an extra voice in the red sky seasons of the original toon, Rob Paulsen the voice of Raphael in the original toon, and now the voice of Donatello for the new series, and there are more. The interesting thing with this interview is the lack of the gap, Kenny Byerly finished wrapping up Season 1 of Nickelodeons Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles writing for the series. He is already working on the new IDW Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Comics. This summer we were lucky to sit down with him about his work on the IDW TMNT comics. I met Kenny at a comic book store, which held a TMNT event. It was an honor to meet him, as we got to talk a little there. Hes a good guy and had a lot to share on both of the TMNT medias hes worked with. Cowabunga Corner Season 6 will have an interview with him for his work on the Nickelodeon animated series. The day before filming she went to the beach with our friends. When leaving the water, a wave pulled her back into the water and brought her up in another wave smashing her face into the ground. This broke her teeth and nose, fractured her face and snapped her neck. The hospital released her telling her that her neck was not broken. We recently learned that her neck was broken, and she is now going in to get help with that. Even with all of the pain she was in, Miki got up and went with me to do this interview.
