This is the first track of an album that started out as a homage to the Prophet 6 and OB-6 synthesisers, but quickly evolved into a concept album inspired by the life-changing situation we unfortunately all find ourselves in thanks to the deadly pandemic called COVID-19. Faced with worsening news reels every day as this very real global tragedy plays out, I decided to put pen to paper and write music that for me was fitting to the current circumstances.
The two synthesisers used for all tracks are the truly wonderful DSI Sequential Prophet 6 and OB-6, I really don't know what I would do without them both! The only additional sounds being drums, percussion, sound effects and news soundbites. A single choir sample was used on the fifth track, Reflection.
I appreciate these are hard times for everyone but please consider purchasing this album or some of the tracks within it. ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION. I am personally critical of their initial response to this pandemic and their reluctance to call it what it clearly is, but as international charities go they are the best place to make donations. The one single thing that is going to save lives is a vaccine and the WHO are central to the international efforts to develop one.
