A doctor explains the recent news regarding 3 of the most promising COVID vaccine candidates (Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca/Oxford). All 3 of these are still weeks away from deployment anywhere, and 4-6 months away from having any appreciable impact on curtailing community spread. So please still socially distance, avoid crowded events, and wear masks - particularly while in indoor public places. The pandemic is actively getting worse every day at the moment, but at least now we know for sure there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
As always, respectful debate is welcome. But trolls, deliberately offensive comments, and the overt promotion of conspiracy theories and pseudoscience will all be removed.
