Jacob is a False: a person altered artificially to become far stronger and more resilient than normal living beings.

However, when this artificial alteration goes wrong, a False can become an Error. Effects of being an Error can be (but are not limited to) pain, aggression, wasting away, and instability.

Seems like Jacob is not as resilient as he originally thought...
