Tonight we’re laying out the system nobody in Eastern Kentucky wants to talk about — the arrests, the jail, the drug court, the house arrest, the rehabs, the Medicaid money, the nonprofits, the land deals, the conflicts of interest, and the 800+ acres that tie it all together.
We’re asking the questions the courthouse refuses to answer:
• What would make a sheriff walk into a judge’s chambers and fire nine bullets?
• What was happening behind closed doors that made murder in the courthouse the “better” option?
• How does the drug‑court pipeline trap women who never get out?
• Why are the same people sitting on the boards, the banks, the nonprofits, the tourism groups, and the land deals?
• How did they get such a sweet deal on over 800 acres — and what can they legally put on it now?
• Is this economic development… or is this organized crime hiding in plain sight?
We follow the land.
