President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed Filipina singer-songwriter Gwyneth Jearei 'Gwyn' Dorado during a courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace on August 25, 2026.
The President recognized Dorado for her achievements in South Korea’s music and entertainment industry, including her historic second-place finish in the singing competition 'Sing Again 4,' where she was the only foreign contestant to reach the Top 4.
She later emerged as the grand winner of the Netflix Korea reality music competition 'Famous Singers Need a Hit Song' and has released original music and contributed to the soundtrack for the South Korean series 'My Royal Nemesis.'
During the courtesy call, she gave President Marcos Jr. a brief musical performance, singing part of the Filipino classic 'Bato sa Buhangin.'
Dorado’s achievements highlight the growing presence of Filipino artists on the international stage and inspire aspiring Filipino performers to pursue their dreams around the world.
