TheAikenHead | Court "Bans" Town Hall Prayers (Radio 4 Any Questions) @TheAikenHead | Uploaded February 2012 | Updated October 2024, 17 minutes ago.
Bideford Council in Devon was told by a court that prayers should not form part of the official agenda. The action was brought by former councillor Clive Bone, supported by the National Secular Society. Despite the misinformation sprouted by the religious brigade, people are still free to pray if they want. The Any Questions panel discuss the issue, including Ann Widdecombe, Mehdi Hasan, David Lammy, and Menzies Campbell. Typically, Widdecombe is upset over the decision, and the Daily Mail had an hilarious front cover saying "CHRISTIANITY UNDER ATTACK"! (BBC Radio 4 Any Questions?, 10th February, 2012, recorded in Crewkerne, Somerset)
