Let's be clear, I don't claim that the Runcam Thumb Pro surpasses the capabilities of a properly utilized GoPro Hero 9, 10, or 11. However, I've noticed numerous GoPro videos on YouTube that lack color grading and suffer from poor export settings, resulting in compromised quality due to YouTube compression. In contrast, when the Thumb Pro is used with manual settings and appropriately graded, it can produce outstanding results that outshine many of these videos. Surprisingly, the Thumb Pro even surpasses my insta360 Go 2 footage at a fraction of the cost.
Of course, the GoPro offers several advantages such as battery life, built-in screen, Wi-Fi support, and more. But if you're willing to work around these limitations, the Thumb Pro presents a fantastic budget-friendly option. I want to emphasize that I'm not criticizing anyone's videos; I'm simply impressed with the remarkable performance that this camera delivers at its price point.
