Welcome back to YeeFit Adventures! (June1st - June 3rd, 2024). The trail southward from Cottonwood Campground followed Bright Angel Creek, a reliable guide through the arid landscape. The creek’s constant presence was both a visual delight and a source of refreshment, its clear waters a reminder of the life-sustaining power of nature. Not far from the campground, I encountered one of the day’s highlights: Ribbon Falls.
After navigating The Box, the trail began to open up, and I soon found myself approaching Phantom Ranch. This historic oasis at the bottom of the Grand Canyon offered a welcome respite from the rigors of the trail. Phantom Ranch is a unique blend of rustic charm and modern convenience, providing a place for weary hikers to rest, refuel, and reconnect with civilization, even if only briefly. I stopped at the canteen, indulging in a cold lemonade that tasted like pure bliss after the long hike. The camaraderie among the hikers at Phantom Ranch was palpable, each person sharing stories of their journey, the challenges they faced, and the awe-inspiring beauty they encountered. #grandcanyon #Rim2Rim
