An afternoon of herping with my boys turned up this baby Cottonmouth, or Water Moccasin. This encounter didn't lead to me being chased....the snake merely stood its ground and then retreated when given the chance. Yes, these are venomous snakes, but they are not aggressive and should be left alone.
