Our technology is above and beyond. It filters out yellow light, which is very rare in the industry. Yellow light interferes with reds and greens, so you get more vivid colors when you're looking through Costa sunglasses.
If we take a look at the visible light spectrum, it's measured in nano meters. The light that we see has a range. Yellow light resides between 575 and 585, with 580 being right in the middle. That special filter that we use, the patented filter technology is right at 580 nano meters. We absorb that amount of light.
By taking away yellow, we make red and green more vibrant because they are on either side of it. Yellow only interferes with those two colors. That's how the 580 technology work it's very specific and unique.
On top of that, there is unmatched protection with the Costa sunglasses. Costa sunglasses also absorb more high energy visible blue light. That's very harmful for the eye. In addition to UV light (framesdirect.com/knowledge-center/uv-coating), we protect the eye. The harmful high energy blue light is much more damaging to the retina (framesdirect.com/knowledge-center/computer-glasses). By absorbing yellow light and blue light, we are able to provide the world's clearest sunglasses. All of our sunglasses are polarized for that extra level of protection blocks all of the glare. 100 percent of glare is absorbed with polarized lenses.
