In today’s video, I’m showcasing a new canvas an paint brand today, built around my signature Sun Series technique—a radiant hand-painted gold sphere in the background with dramatic wave movement poured over the top. This piece combines color, motion, and metallic light in a way that feels both bold and serene.

This video features a wonderful collaboration with @phoenixartmaterials . I used their Lamp Black, Ultramarine Blue, and the stunning Penny Copper metallic acrylic paint. These are just a few of the paints they sent me, but each one performed beautifully—smooth consistency, rich pigmentation, and flawless blending throughout the pour.
🖼️ The Canvas
@phoenixartmaterials also provided a 1.5” deep edge 16"x20" gallery canvas, and it was an absolute dream to work on. The stapled back, along with their tuck-and-fold corners, creates a clean, crisp, professional finish. The surface held up perfectly to layered pours and the wave technique.

To achieve the wave movement that sweeps across the gold sun, I used a mini dustpan—one of my favorite tools for controlled ribbon pours. It allows me to guide the paint with intention while still embracing the organic flow that fluid art is all about.
