Recorded @TheDodiesBand next album in Ireland at Wildwater Studios, now back at my studio prepping tracks for mixing. Listening to the bass tracks (synth bass alternating with guitar through an octave pedal, both running to a Direct Input track and to a mic’d bass amp track.)

Sometimes we record and do everything right (gear, mics & placement, etc.) but it juuuust doesn’t sound like it was captured correctly... if 2 or more tracks of the same instrument sound ‘hollow’, ‘distant’, a ‘weird tone’, check the PHASE...! Open up the track view to see the waveforms, and most likely they will not be aligned… watch this video and listen to the difference when the waves are lined up - suddenly it has the tone and presence you *did capture 👍😁👍
