Amid the Coronavirus Outbreak, Berliners continue to spend time in the parks. I keep taking long lonely walks around the city (Read my daily impressions here: letterstobarbara.com/the-coronavirus-chronicles/) and I try to write as much as possible. However, the parks are not as full as they were a week ago when I uploaded my video from Tempelhofer Feld.
This time, I visited the Hasenheide Park. The Volkspark Hasenheide is a 50 hectares park on the border between Neukölln and Kreuzberg. As you can see, there are people in the park but they keep the distance between them. Who would have thought that we'd live such a dystopian version of society, where people would have to keep distances by law.
Anyway, strolling through the parks is probably the last activity that we'll be allowed for a while. Hasenheide Park is much quieter than other parks even though it's located just a few hundred meters away from Hermannplatz, one of the busiest spots of Berlin. At least, during the Coronavirus outbreak madness, Berlin enjoyed some sunny days. I'm pretty sure that rainier days are just around the corner and soon enough we might have to stay at home 24/7 in some sort of quarantine. Tough times are ahead of us and enjoying some time out of the home feels refreshing.
As always, I had the DJI Osmo Pocket with me and I thought of shooting another video in 4K. We somehow have to remember these odd days. So, here's how it feels to be in Berlin during the Coronavirus outbreak: lockdown in the city and a few people here and there in the parks.
