Cornell has officially dropped its university-wide community essay for the 2026-2027 cycle. After using it as a workaround for racial experiences post-the 2023 SFFA Supreme Court decision, and bringing it back lightly edited last year, itâs now gone completely. Good news: No more forced diversity stories. Reality check: Your resume, Common App essay, and Cornell school-specific essays just got more important.
