Farya Faraji | Corinthian Nights - Ancient Greek Music feat. Dimitris Athanasopoulos @faryafaraji | Uploaded 1 year ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Music by Dimitris Athanasopoulos of the One Man's Noise channel check out more of his awesome music at his channel, and arrangement by Farya Faraji. This is another attempt at conveying a historically accurate rendition of Ancient Greek music based on our knowledge of it.

The music is based on a recording Dimitris made, improvising on reed instruments called aulos in Antiquity. I added the sound of a varvitos lyre, as well as drums and cymbals. The main melody employs the chromatic genus of Ancient Greek modality. I added to it a drone on the lyre and aulos that repeats the tonic, something very common within horizontal, monophonic/heterophonic traditions like that of Ancient Greece.
