Louisiana Swamp - Alligators and Cypress with Spanish Moss at Lake Martin, Lafayette LA LimeWave 2019-04-24 | A late afternoon in the hot summer month of July we went into the swamps at Lake Martin at Lafayette, Louisiana. The Spanish moss was hanging down from the Cypress and Tupelo trees and the alligators were either sunbathing on a log or lurking close to the water surface. There was an abundance of greenery and as we entered more open areas we got to see lots of birds like the Blue Heron. Sydney Fireworks – New Years Eve LimeWave 2021-01-05 | To experience New Years celebrations in Sydney has been on our buckets list for many years. On our third trip to Australia we finally made it. There are several spots around the city from where to see the fireworks. A lot of them requires a purchase of ticket to get access. There are a few open areas that also get a good view however you probably have to get there real early in the morning or spend the night to get a decent view. We purchased tickets to access the Harbour Party 2018 at Luna Park Sydney. This gave an amazing view of the New Years Eve Fireworks from Milsons Point. From there we got beautiful views of both the bridge and the Sydney opera house at the same time. As the fireworks came to an end, the boats in the inner harbor left the area in a boat parade. As we later on, walked over the Harbor bridge back to center of town we got beautiful views of Sydney harbor from above.
Galway, Ireland LimeWave 2020-12-30 | In this film you’ll see several sites from our visit to beautiful and picturesque Galway. Claddagh is a former fishing village, pretty close to the center of town. It’s the oldest part of Galway. You’ll get beautiful views of the colorful houses and the Long walk alongside the harbor from Nimmos Pier.The nearby South Park (also called The Swamp” is nice for walks.The two arches Spanish Arch and the Caoċ Arch were once upon a time part of the city wall. Today you can enjoy a nice dinner at Ard Bia at Nimmos in an old building close by. Wolfe Tone Bridge and O'Briens Bridge connects central town over the River Corrib. Walking from the Quay up through town takes you via Quay Street, High Street, Shop Street and William Street to Eyre Square and John F. Kennedy Park in centre of the city. While in Ireland, a great part of the experience is enjoying the traditional music that is played in pubs and on the streets.Galway is no different. During this walk you’ll pass by lots of pubs, restaurants and shops such as McDonagh’s, Quay Street Kitchen, The Quays Bar & Music Hall, Lane Café at Druid Lane, Tigh Neachtain, Sonny Molloy’s, The Kings Head, Tigh Chóilí, Taaffes Bar and Garavan's Bar. The Claddagh ring of Ireland can be seen around town, a crowned heart clasped between two hands and it is a symbol of love, friendship and loyalty.
Vieux-Montréal – Old Montreal, Canada LimeWave 2020-12-27 | Old Montreal, or Vieux-Montréal in French, is a historic neighborhood with lots of old charm and character. Some of the buildings in the area dates back to the 17th century. When visiting around Christmas and New Years the streets are decorated with lights and the old port, Vieux-Port de Montréal, offers iceskating. That is if you don’t opt for a tour of the huge Ferris wheel, La Grande Roue de Montréal. The building with the dome that can be seen from all over old town holds the Bonsecours Market, Marché Bonsecours, with lots of small boutiques, restaurants as well as events and exhibitions. Place Jacques-Cartier is a square in the middle of old town and during our visit people strolled around the stalls and listened to music from the small stage. A few blocks away is one of the main attractions in Vieux-Montréal, the Notre-Dame Basilica. During our visit in the evening there where projections on house walls from events in Montreals history.

A day in León, Castile and León, Spain LimeWave 2020-08-30 | On our roadtrip through Western Europe we made a stop for the day in León in Castile and León in northern Spain. León was founded by the romans and has lots of historical and architectural heritage. It is located on the French Way of the Camino de Santiago which gives the town lots of visitors. It was a really warm summer day. After parking in center of town we walked into La Plaza Mayor. The summer heat made us head directly to Restaurant Mama Tere and their outdoor seating for some cold drinks. Calle Ancha is one of the main streets going through the center of town, with lots of boutiques. In the end of if we passed the Palacio de los Guzmanes, a Renaissance building built in the 16th century and today the seat of provincial government of León.León has lots of beautiful old buildings and next-door to Palacio de los Guzmanes we found a modernist building designed by none other than Antoni Gaudí, Casa de los Botines. Built in 1892 and the headquarters of Caja España, a Spanish bank.After walking about town for a few hours we headed to the restaurant area at Plaza San Martín. Before continuing our roadtrip we had to try out some Leonese cuisine. Tabierna Los cazurros offered local tapas and we got some cecina, a cured smoked beef, and a few other specialities. After a delicious meal, and tasty cerverza we got up and walked through town. It was time to leave León for this time, but there’s more to see and experience for our next visit.
Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park, Houston LimeWave 2020-08-04 | Who would expect a waterfall in the middle of a big city? Houston architects decided to build one in front of the Transco Tower, and in 1985 the fountain and its park was opened. The sculptural fountain was initially named Transco Waterwall, later renamed to Williams Waterwall, and is today known as Gerald D. Hines Waterwall or purely the waterwall as local calls it. The concept behind the design was a horseshoe of rushing water and to symbolize the 64 stories high tower the fountain is 64 feet tall. The Water wall is Houston’s most photographed site.

On the top you find Piazza Umberto Primo, called La Piazzetta by the locals with several restaurants and bars in a picturesque environment. Take the opportunity to have a drink and soak up the beauty around you. In one corner of the Piazza stands the clock tower, Torre del Orologio, that has become a landmark of the island of Capri. Gunnebo House and Gardens LimeWave 2020-07-27 | Gunnebo House, Gunnebo slott in Swedish, is one of Sweden’s best preserved 18th century estates. It’s located in Mölndal, south of Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. The building is an example of neoclassical architecture and has one of Sweden's finest baroque gardens. It was originally built as summer villa for a wealthy merchant and his family. The house is beautifully located between two lakes, Stensjön and Rådasjön and it’s a lovely environment to stroll around the beautiful gardens and walk one of the several walking routes in the area to enjoy the surroundings. The coffee house and restaurant serves guests all year around using products from the surrounding gardens.
Tabasco Factory, Avery Island, Louisiana LimeWave 2020-07-22 | Did you know that each and every bottle of Tabasco, no matter where in the world you get it, is produced in a small production facility close to Lafayette in Louisiana? youtu.be/liPkDvEX42w And that Avery Island that is printed on the bottles label really is a salt dome? The factory is still owned by the descendants of the man who created the original recipe in 1870, Edmund McIlhenny.This and much more can be learned as you visit the Tabasco Factory and Museum in Louisiana. Via the entrance in the Tabasco Museum you pay a small fee to enter the facilities, the fee also includes a gift of a few samples.Inside the greenhouse you see the variety of peppers used in the production. Most of the peppers are today grown in South America and Africa, but always using seeds from Avery Island. In the Barrel Warehouse you learn about barrel aging cooperage and pepper mash aging process. In the blending room a 28-days blending process of salt, peppers and vinegar takes place. Local salt is an important factor in the making of Tabasco, and you get some further insights about the salt mining on the island during your visit. Inside the factory you see the staff supervising the bottling line and packing. In the country store you get the opportunity to purchase from a big assortment of Tabasco branded gear, and of course taste and buy all varieties of Tabasco. If you worked up an apetite there’s also a restaurant on the premises. If they use tabasco in every dish? You bet! So what does the word Tabasco really mean? The word has Mexican Indian origin and is said to mean a place where the soil is humid.
Downtown Lafayette, Louisiana LimeWave 2020-07-17 | Lafayette, Louisiana, is nicknamed the Hub City and located in the Heart of Cajun Country. During our visit during a really hot 24-hours stay, the downtown area was laidback and calm and we liked the atmosphere. The playful and colorful city name in the Parc Sans Souci gives a warm welcome. While visiting the cute cabin where Sans Souci Fine Crafts Gallery is located the kind woman in the store brought out a big map and suggested us a bunch of things to and see in the surrounding and greater area, and we did go for several of them the upcoming days. Several buildings downtown has really nice wall art, often with local themes. There’s several nice restaurants in town and we tried both Pamplona Tapas Bar and the La Carreta and was warmly welcomed and very pleased with the kind and service-minded staff, as well as with what they served of course. On our departure we also visited Randol's Cajun Restaurant south of town. We spent the night at The Juliet Boutique Hotel with walking distance from center of town. This video has captured some sights of the downtown area we explored during our 24 hours stay, but there’s of course plenty more to see and do. We highly recommend exploring the area. Mont Saint Michel, Normandy France LimeWave 2020-07-15 | A magical mystical island seemingly floating in the water. A picture as taken from a fairytale. This breathtaking place exists and is said to be one of the most visited places in France.Mont Saint-Michel is located in Normandy on the coast of France, right on the border to Bretagne. The Baie de Mont-Saint-Michel has one of the most extreme tidal variations in the world and although Mont-Saint-Michel is surrounded by vast sandbanks most of the time it becomes an island when the tides are very high. At low tide you can talk a walk in the sand, around the walls, and get views from all sides. The island castle is a walled medieval village with cobblestoned pathway running up to an abby on top. There’s a small number of residences in the village, including the monks and nuns. The rocky tidal island was once part of dry land but erosion when sea level rose made it into an island. Known as Mont Tombe until 708 when the archangel Michael appeared in 708 for the bishop of Avranches, instructing him to bild a church at the place. The place was renamed Mont Saint Michel au péril de la Mer ("Mount Saint Michael at the peril of the sea”). The island has been through lots of history and have been both sanctuary, abbey, fortress and a prison.
Jack Daniels Distillery LimeWave 2020-07-09 | Lynchburg, just an hour and a half drive south of Nashville is home to one of the worlds most famous alcoholic bewares, Jack Daniels. The distillery is open to visitors and offer several variants of daily tours. This video was filmed during a tour called ”The Flight Of Jack Daniel’s”. The tour starts out looking at parts of the process of the making including charcoal mellowing that is essential for the taste. Next stop is Cave Spring Hollow. The water from this spring is used for every bottle of Jack Daniel’s. The limestone of the cave supply the water a variety of minerals, and also removes iron from the water which is important when making whiskey. Outside of the cave stands a statue of Jack Daniels.Close-by, in a small white cabin, you’ll find the original office of Jack Daniels. Perhaps one of the most notable details in the cabin is the safe that is said led to Jack Daniels dead. When unable to open it, he kicked the safe injured his toes which led to a blood poisoning.Next stop: the brewing factory (where we where not allowed to filmed) and the packing which wasn’t active the day we visited as it was a Sunday. Before the end of the tour we entered the Barrel House where the tasting takes place. This tour gives one a chance to sample 5 Jack Daniel whiskeys: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey, Gentleman Jack and Jack Daniel's Rye. The setting is amazing for tasting.On the way out you’ll get a chance to fill up on your stock of Jack Daniel’s to bring home. In one area you can display old bottles used prior to the now iconic square bottle. Did you know the square shape bottle came about to prevent the bottles from rolling around during transport?It’s been debated if Jack Daniels is a Bourbon or not, it fills all the criterias, but has historically always been stated as a Tennessee whiskey.

Bruges, Belgium LimeWave 2020-07-05 | The beautiful old town of Bruges is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s easy to immediately fall in love with this cozy town. The old medieval center is dotted with old bridges over the canals. And the actual name Bruges is said to comes from the old Dutch word for bridge; Brugge. Among the most photographed views of Bruges is the Rozenhoedkaai canal with the belfry in the background, Bruges' most famous landmark. During our visit the place was busy daytime but we where almost on our own late evening.Church of Our Lady is another medieval building. With its amazing spire it is the second highest brick tower in the world. Belgium is home to the Trappist beer which can be found in most restaurants and bars around town. With any luck you might be able to try out the Westvleteren 12 nominated multiple times as the world’s best beer. Since Belgium has three official languages, it’s all dependent on where you are in the country that is the dominant one.
The Alamo, San Antonio, Texas LimeWave 2020-06-25 | Remember the Alamo! The battlecry helped put the name of the old Spanish misson into the history books. The main building was originally a chapel of the Mission San Antonio de Valero founded beginning of 1700s abandoned by the end of that century. The story begins when Texas was part of Mexico and giving away land to immigrants mainly from Europe as a way to Early 1800s the chapel was used by Spanish troops and that’s when the building became known as the Alamo, nicknamed the Spanish word for cottonwood trees which grow there.Late 1835 Mexican forces where driven out of San Antonio by Texans that then occupied the Alamo. Early 1836, a Mexican army arrived and a siege of the Alamo begun. After 13 days the Mexicans stormed and all the Texan defenders were slain. In April 1836, when a force of Texans took on a Mexican army at the Battle of San Jacinto, the Texan forces shouted, “Remember the Alamo!”.Today Alamo is situated in the middle of central San Antonio town, and are open to visitors. You are not allowed to use a camera inside why this video lacks inside views of the mission. However, as can be seen in the video the outside surrounding is beautiful with several buildings and a beautiful garden.
Capri island from the sea, Italy LimeWave 2020-06-24 | What can be better than taking a boat ride around beautiful Capri during a warm and sunny summer day? This is exactly what we did during our visit to Naples. As you arrive with the Ferry from Naples You can rent a boat by the harbor a and enjoy the beautiful surroundings by yourself. We left Marina Grande and took the full circle around the beautiful island. Halfway we passed Marina Piccola and went through one of the Faraglioni rocks. On a few occasions we stopped, enjoyed the views, and even went for a swim. Cáceres, Extremadura Spain LimeWave 2020-05-11 | On the Iberian Peninsula halfway between Madrid and Lisbon lies the beautiful Spanish town Cáceres. The town was founded by the Romans and have been through a lot of history which is evident when walking around on the cobbled medieval streets lined with old buildings, walls and monuments. The old city is encircled by a Moorish wall from the 12-century and full of towers. On Plaza Mayor and Plaza San Juan are lots of nice restaurants and bars to chose from.
Maasai Mara Elephants LimeWave 2020-04-18 | During our safari in Kenya, when visiting Maasai Mara, a herd of wild Elephants came up pretty close, aware about our presence but not disturbed. Later we got to see one other herd with a baby elephant chasing birds, and some elephants in a playful fight. Later in the afternoon a huge elephant, scarred by fight and with one tusk missing, walked toward us and signaled its irritation with flapping ears. Respecting the animals as we are visiters on their premises, and of course with our safety in mind, our driver started the engine and put the pedal to the metal. These beautiful animals, the African savanna elephant, are the largest existing land animals. It was amazing experience these beautiful animals close up, a memory for life.When in Maasai Mara one might think there’s lots of elephants, but eight percent of Africa's savanna elephants are lost each year, primarily because of poaching and are quickly decreasing in numbers. Lucky Bay, Esperance - Kangaroos at Australias whitest beach LimeWave 2020-03-28 | An explosion of turquoise and azure lined with white sand, Lucky Bay is an amazing sight. After driving south east from Esperance into the Cape Le Grand National Park, you arrive at what is said to be Australia's whitest beach. But perhaps the beach is even more famous for its wildlife, kangaroos frequent the beach. The kangaroos are quite used to human visitors and might approach you with hope for some treats. We took a long walk along the broad beach, enjoyed the amazing views and embraced the wonderful colors. And where of course amazed to study kangaroos life on the beach. Trinidad, Cuba LimeWave 2020-01-29 | One of the true gems of Cuba and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Trinidad located on the Caribbean coast is probably one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean founded on in 1514. Cobbledstoned streets surrounded by houses in vivid color leads up to Plaza Mayor in middle of town. On one side of the square you’ll find Iglesia Parroquial de la Santísima Trinidad. The horse carriages and vintage American cars will pass you by when walking on the streets. The yellow clock tower, The Convento de San Francisco de Asís, can be seen all over town. From its top you get a great view of the surrounding Escambray Mountain and the Caribbean Ocean where the Playa Ancón is a closeby beach. In the evenings the sound of live latin music can be heard from most places.

The first rock and roll song, Rocket 88 by Jackie Brenton and his Delta Cats, was recorded here in 1951, leading the claim Sun Studio is the birthplace of Rock’n’roll.Elvis Presley made his first recording here, a song called My Happiness, making Sun the most famous recording studio in the world. The small two-room house with just three doors was built by his father Vernon, his grandfather and his uncle. Elvis was one of the twin brothers born to the Presleys. Tour of Graceland Mansion - Home of Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee LimeWave 2019-09-11 | A sunny day spent at Graceland at Elvis Presley Blvd in Memphis, Tennessee. The tour begins at the entrance to the Graceland visitor center, continuing by shuttle to the Graceland Mansion. Walking through the bottom floor with the living room, dining room, guest room, kitchen, the famous jungle room as well as the TV-room and the pool table room in the basement. Next stop is the Vernons Office and Elvis shooting range. The trophy room contains loads of unique items from Elvis life and career, everything from his birth certificate to his guns, Pricilla's wedding dress and lots more. His racquetball building also has a room where Elvis used to hang out with friends and play music. The Lorraine Motel - site of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr LimeWave 2019-09-01 | The Lorraine Motel, located at 450 Mulberry Street downtown Memphis, is where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. On April 4, 1968, he stepped out on the balcony outside Room 306 where he stayed and as King turned around to return to his room, a bullet hit him from behind and struck him down. James Earl Ray was convicted for having shot him from the brick building across the street. However, he kept claiming he was innocent, strengthening the conspiracy theories. The Lorraine Motel also holds a special place in music history. Stax recording studio was located nearby and their artist often stayed at the Lorraine. Some of the well-known singers who stayed there are Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Wilson Pickett.It’s said that a few classic songs from the 60s’ where written here too, such as In the Midnight Hour and Knock on Wood.

Napoleon House, New Orleans, Louisiana LimeWave 2019-05-29 | The Napoleon House in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, was built in 1794. The story goes the building was intended for Napoleon Bonaparte in a plan to free Napoleon and bring him to Louisiana. However, the plans were never put into action before Napoleon's death in 1821. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970.The Napoleon House today holds a restaurant and bar that has a lot of character and some of the old-time New Orleans ambiance. They serve traditional dishes such as red beans and rice, gumbo, jambalaya, and muffuletta sandwiches. The bar serves Pimm's Cup cocktail while classical music is played.
Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, Sheffield Alabama LimeWave 2018-11-16 | Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers, and they've been known to pick a song or two. Lynyrd Skynyrd mentions this legendary sound studio and its founders in their iconic song Sweet Home Alabama. Muscle Shoals Sound Studio is located at 3614 Jackson Highway in Sheffield, Alabama. The studio was founded in 1969 by a group of session musicians called the Swampers; Barry Beckett (keyboards), Roger Hawkins (drums), Jimmy Johnson (guitar) and David Hood (bass). One of the first records was Cher's sixth album, the cover picture her and the musicians outside the building and a sign with the address was put on the cover inspiring the owners to add a real sign with the address in similar style. Probably one of the most famous recordings done here was The Rolling Stones recording of Brown Sugar and Wild Horses and there's several photos on the display from those sessions. Bob Seger recorded the song Old Time Rock and Roll in the studio and the piano in the room is really the one that was used. That also goes for some of Rod Stewarts finest tracks, The First Cut Is the Deepest andTonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright). A huge number of successful artists recorded here in the 70's; Elton John, Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Dr. Hook, Julian Lennon, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker and Cat Stevens. The studio closed in 1979 and was out of operation for more than 20 years. In later years have efforts been made to restore the studio and it reopened in 2017 for tours and for occasional recordings. After the studio's resurrection, the Black Keys recorded their albumBrothers here. Rival Sons recorded parts of their album Feral Roots here with Dave Cobb.

Freddie Mercurys Montreux LimeWave 2018-10-31 | Video with exterior views of Freddie Mercury's home in Montreux, Switzerland and from the Freddie Mercury Memorial Statue located in the center of town at Place du Marché by Lake Geneva. The small cabin at his home while living in Montreux and the statue can be seen on the cover of the Queen album Made In Heaven. The statue, by Irena Sedlecká, was placed in Montreux 1996 a year after the album was released why the statue on the cover either visited there before or the statue on the cover is an early version perhaps. The roof of what was his house is covered with gravel as can be seen in the video.
Queen - The Studio Experience, Montreux Switzerland LimeWave 2018-10-24 | Queen's recording studio, Mountain Studios, was located inside Casino Barrière in Montreux, Switzerland. Queen recorded seven albums here between 1979 and 1996. Today the studio has been transformed to an interactive exhibition open to public. The exhibition includes lots of photos and memorabilia. The control room has not been changed except for the mixer desk, replaced by a reproduction, which allows visitors re-mix some of the Queen classics. The spot where Freddie Mercury recorded his last song is marked within the control room.

The site feature 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, most of them hexagonal, is a result of an ancient volcanic eruption. According to legend, the columns are the remains of a causeway built by a giant. The name comes from a legend about the causeway being the the Irish giant Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn MacCool) to fight a Scottish giant. The Giant's Causeway is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Snoqualmie Falls and the Great Northern Hotel of Twin Peaks LimeWave 2017-05-21 | A short drive from Seattle lies Snoqualmie Falls, the site of the Great Northern Hotel of Twin Peaks. The Snoqualmie River waterfall is 82 meter / 268 feet high situated in stunning settings. In TwinPeaks the FBI Agent Dale Cooper lives at the Great Northern Hotel on top of the waterfall, owned by the character Ben Horne. In reality the hotel is named Salish Lodge. The well known view of the hotel and the waterfall was filmed from one of the viewpoints along the walk path along the river, open for public.For Twin Peak fans it’s quite fun to visit this place.
