Study shapes and forms by copying them. Develop a good eye for proportion and detail. 1. Construct the shapes using different lines. 2. Use separates sheets of 14x17 bond paper for different colored pencils. 3. Use number 2 graphite, Black, Indigo Blue, and Tuscan Red pencils made by Verithin or Color-erase. 4. Copy each shape so that your sheet has a total of 3 evenly spaced columns. 5. Hold your pencil naturally, the same way you sign your name. 6. Keep your pencil sharp and the finished lines dark. 7. Over-shoot the corners of the shapes in the row on the right. 8. Lightly sketch the center line of the cylinder. 9. Freehand draw an even border about 1/2 inch around the sheet. 10. Letter the title in the bottom left corner of your sheet, within the work area, and your first and last name. Based in part on work by Prof. Robert Natata, San Francisco State University.
