The traditional method can take a long time. This procedure takes about 30 minutes. Seeing 0.37 g of crystals is just the same as 3.7 g!
The issue is that the reacting of acid and CuO, filtering and evaporation are not precisely the methods used in the traditional methods. This raises a good talking point. Also, if a Bunsen burner is on for 1 minute, 3.6 kg of CO₂ is produced? With the ethanol, it is only 0.24 g.
