I have my OTPs with both Faline and Copper, but this time I decided to use something brand new.
AU in which Copper meets Faline in the forest instead of Todd. They get along well, and soon become good friends. Copper shows Faline the city, Faline shows Copper the forest, nobody believes they could be foes in the future.
Faline loves to paint her hair blue and Copper loves it.
Time goes by, they grow up, Copper's master takes Copper and Chief away for the winter. Copper and Faline are apart and they change, when Copper comes back in the spring he's a hunting dog but he never hunts deer and he dreams about meeting Faline again.
He knows he loves her and hopes she'd love him back, but her sees her with another deer, she doesn't have blue hair anymore and looks so different.
Copper is hurt, the memories of their warm childhood overflood his mind, but maybe it's still not the end, he could try to talk to Faline again and see if she still cares about him.
