This session, delivered by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) at the COP26 Conference in Glasgow on Wednesday 3 November, launches the HSG Thematic Working group on Climate Resilient Health Systems and presents the roadmap of the TWG and its key priorities. To illustrate these messages, a panel of academic experts, policy makers, health systems strengthening and public health professionals alongside international bilateral funding agencies share their perspective on the key implementation research and policy priorities, methodological challenges and key structural and perception barriers to strengthening climate resilience within health systems globally. It offers a direction for shaping this emerging field of priority for climate and public health science, research and action.
The session contributes to three of the five thematic areas: 1. Building climate resilient health systems, 2. Developing low carbon sustainable health systems and 3. Adaptation Research for Health.
