We’re on the road again, heading toward Colorado — but this travel day turns into quite the adventure.
After spending the night in a Cracker Barrel parking lot, we wake up dealing with brutal heat, limited battery power, and a trailer brake controller that still isn’t behaving the way it should. We take the truck into a dealership hoping they can figure out what’s going on, but the diagnosis leaves us with more questions than answers.
Then things get even more interesting when we get pulled over for speeding in a school zone… while towing the trailer. 😬 Thankfully, the undersheriff was incredibly understanding and sent us on our way with a warning.
From there, we make our way to Armadillo, Texas, where we find a place to spend the night and finally get to see Super Troopers 3. Along the way, we’re also figuring out how to manage our solar power in 100+ degree heat, whether we can run the A/C overnight, and why traveling without propane might become a bigger deal than we expected.
Plus, we hit 2,000 miles on the new truck, talk about its towing performance, discover a fallen mirror, deploy the awning, and settle in for another night on the road.
It’s another very real day of full-time RV travel — the good, the bad, the hot, and the occasionally ridiculous. Thanks for coming along!
