It is important to remember that officers work for the people, not rogue contractors working outside of their contracts, and in bad faith.
The Clearwater Police have been very admirable in not violating my rights based on Ruth Eckerd Hall's attempts to over reach their authority. Unfortunately, the first time this happened, Officer Braniff took REH's false claims that Coachman Park's Amphitheater was private property, at face value and falsely arrested me. But now, the City of Clearwater officers are much more aware of facts and, in my opinion, trying to address the matter in an appropriate and lawful manner.
Did you know that COP stands for Citizens on Patrol? That is exactly what the Clearwater Police have been doing. They patrol and access. They are not prejudging or jumping in without discerning. Obviously, if I am falsely arrested again, I will have lost that faith and opinion, but thus far, since the first false arrest, the officers are doing their best to do their job. They are law enforcement. That's their job. :-)
