Stardate 60195.9
After some much-needed shore leave, we have resupplied the ship and spent two weeks tweaking our sensor suites for more efficient and effective use while exploring the Shackleton Expanse. Now, the Kongzi has been assigned escort duty for a transport convoy to Array 3-5 a joint Klingon/Federation deep space research outpost deep within the Shackleton Expanse. We are joined by the I.K.S. pey qo'vIj under command of Captain gha'vIq. The convoy will be a prime target for any pirates in the area, since it will be carrying valuable equipment and especially personnel. While the Orion and Ferengi governments have banned piracy and especially the slave trade, it is no secret that the Syndicate and... shall we say.. "independent" Ferengi daimons are willing to flout such prohibitions if they think there is enough money to be made. We still have a couple days until we leave drydock, just enough time for engineering to make sure the new systems are well integrated and for the crew to get a few more days in of enjoying the hospitality of Narendra Station
