This 90-minute webinar will focus on highlights and learnings from the largest ever community-based research project among survivors of conversion ‘therapy’ (CT) and other sexual orientation and gender identity and expression change efforts (SOGIECE) in Canada. Led by survivors for survivors, CBRC’s SOGIECE/CT Survivor Support research project, engaged with hundreds of survivors who shared what barriers they experienced, what helped them recover, and what supports are needed. With the criminalization of CT practices in Canada, it is more important than ever that we partner with, and learn from, survivors themselves.
Come learn about how the project was structured, what was learned, what’s left to be done, and how the findings can help facilitate the creation of supports that survivors need to recover.
This event is open to anyone interested in listening to the voices of survivors, which include: SOGIECE/CT survivors, family and friends of survivors, 2SLGBTQ+ community organizations and service providers, healthcare and social service providers, and affirming faith-based organizations and social networks.
