Anybody who's been lucky enough to catch the underrated Sylvester Stallone vehicle OSCAR knows that the real breakthrough performance from Marisa Tomei took place in that mobster comedy of errors. However, it didn't take long for MTV to make it official a year later, when they gave the future May Parker the MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance of 1992 for her delightful turn in MY COUSIN VINNY. Tomei didn't just steal the movie from Joe Pesci, she somersaulted over him and also picked up a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award.
