Overview
In 1992, Commandos Burn, Smith, Beans and Iron are a special forces team who have seen more than their fair share of action. Neo City is their post, Burns, receives a phone call from their informant, "Fox", who tells him the Head of Intelligence is being threatened by a criminal organization known as D.N.M.E. Burns arranges a meeting with Fox at the harbor to learn more about the situation, only to find his dead body when he arrives at the rendezvous destination. D.N.M.E. is bombarding its citizens with a typhoon of a crime wave. The C-Force has been asked to stop them, no matter what.

named in honor of the great artist of the Renaissance Leonardo da Vinci - is the most senior of the Ninja Turtles and typically presented as their leader due to his commanding personality and his serious and mature nature throughout the franchise. Among his brothers, he is the most ordered and disciplined, and also possesses a very strong bond with his father/mentor, Splinter. He is often depicted wearing a blue bandana in most media and wielding twin Katanas.
Raphael
named in honor of The Italian artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino - is the Turtle who is best known for his sarcastic mouth and hair-trigger temper as well as his love for fightingHe is characterized by a red headband, also being the only one of the four turtles to wear it in all forms of media, and wields two Sai in combat.

Mike or Mikey by his brothers - named in honor of The Italian artist Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni - is the most lighthearted, jokester and happy-go-lucky of the four Ninja Turtles, with a more childlike and naive outlook than the rest of his brothers. His main weapon is either a single or a pair of nunchaku in most media. Mikey is often depicted wearing an orange bandana.

named in honor of The Italian artist Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi - is the Turtle that is commonly accepted as the smartest of the group, specifically in matters related to scientific pursuits and technology. He is an accomplished inventor who is able to develop multiple advanced devices with minimal resources, which he devotes to helping both himself and his brothers. In most incarnations, he wears a purple bandana and wields a Bō staff.
