Behind The Scenes: An example of how I practice, how I utilize the cards.
When I was young, I was a letter writer. In my day, aside from phones and in person, this was how people remained in touch. Even though there were typewriters, many letters were still handwritten.
(I was also into visual arts, especially drawing and painting. Which I even studied for awhile)
Eventually, like everyone, I moved to keyboarding.
When email arrived, I felt technology was working in my favor.
I emailed a lot. Long, chatty emails about everything.
People don’t email anymore. Email is out, and texting is in.
Texting is not big enough to contain my thoughts.
So, I’ve been considering going back to writing letters.
Toying with that idea more, I realized that we didn’t have a printer up here.
So if I want to write a letter, I have to write a letter.
I’ve been reflecting a lot on the digital world as opposed to the physical world.
We are uncoupling more and more from the physical place we are in.
(I’m going to dig into that more in another video)
Things are more automated, and not always for the best. Older traditions are being rolled over in the name of progress and speed.
And AI.
All this has been bouncing around the back of my mind.
My morning reading was
• I was 10 of Wands. Upright. Oh joy. But I was stutter stepping with lots of considerations.
• Best course was 4 of Wands reversed.
• Purpose was King of Cups. Reversed.
It just wasn’t landing.
When I’m here, I take morning and afternoon walks.
So I decide to throw down one more card to meditate on.
The Wheel Reversed.
And started walking. I also had a great playlist going. I’ll share that at the end.
Then the Wheel REVERSED hit me.
Go back to that old cycle. Start writing letters. Turn back the wheel, steer not forward, but back. Rewind to the past plenty. Turn back time.
4 of Wands: family/life in the past, before. This refers to some recent personal developments but it is also just look to the past family life.
King of Cups reversed: Figuring out these creative urges and how to actualize. Trying to figure out where to put my creative focus.
Here’s the pin I put in earlier.
There’s a YouTube channel Letters from Mom. The creator Kristie’s mother Barbara was a gifted artist and sent Kristie these amazing letters with both text and integrated illustrations. The channel is Kristie reading the letters while showing the art. Kristie is also a professional voiceover actor, so the narrative is as comforting as the images. Could find an ASMR audience.
I’m add in the tradition Barbara of combining writing and drawing.
I’m going to write AND weave in illustration in the letters and envelopes I’m writing.
It will combine the writing, the illustration, drawing, and since I’m at the cabin, it will help keep me connected with others in a way which isn’t digital.
