Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. Incase you're wondering why I've only got one hand out today, it's because I rolled off a scooter and my other hand is pretty bruised as you can see. It looks a little like cigarette burns at the moment, but rest assured, no domestic violence was involved.
Holiday's been great, lots of adventures and exploring. This is my first week back to the mundane routine, so I'm still adjusting. Can I holiday forever? Kindly watch the ads to support my retirement lol.
Thanks for joining my premiere today, I've been sorely behind most of your videos, so I apologise and I hope to catch up with your channels over the weekend.
As this is my first time picking up the paintbrush after a hiatus, it was abit intimidating. I wanted to ease back into painting with something less detailed.
It's been awhile since I've did an impasto piece so I thought this would be the opportune time to bring out the pallete knife.
I wanted a more contemporary look to this painting, so the background has a more raw and unfinished touch to it. I ran out of my favorite shade of blue so I had to make do with a different color pallete.
I'm using sap green mixed with raw Sienna and ivory white to create a light olive shade. A few brush strokes of titanium white to create light in the middle. I want the background to be flat and texture emphasis for the florals.
This piece is quite experimental, I try a few different techniques which you will see towards the end .
