I thought this would be an interesting and fun little tribute to do. Sisters Constance Bennett (1904 -1965) and Joan Bennett (1910 - 1990) both had quite successful acting careers, and this video focuses on the pre-code years, specifically, one of each of their films. Joan stated in a later interview that there was never any rivalry between her and Constance because they played very different roles, that was true for the most part. However, each of them made a film in which they played a plain or overlooked young woman who gets the chance to stand out (Constance marries her boss in name only, then embarks on a cruise and finds some romance, while Joan gets a makeover and also goes on a cruise, posing as a married woman). Some complications arise for both, but of course, love wins out in the end. If you can buy either of these gorgeous ladies as a wallflower in the beginning, these two films are an enjoyable look at their early careers, and while these movies are somewhat lightweight, they are fun to watch. Both are currently in the public domain so again, the picture quality isn't the greatest, for which I apologize. The movies featured are "Sin Takes A Holiday" (1930) for Constance and "Careless Lady" (1932) for Joan. Enjoy!
