We witness fast Conrail action on the old New York Central Water Level Route in central New York in 1996. This line was a primary route for Conrail’s fast TV trains (trailer van) and we see many of them at speed. You will also see manifest, autorack, and unit trains as they speed past on this table flat mainline.
It’s a pleasure to see graffiti-less freight cars on these trains. We captured action at many rural locations around the Utica and Syracuse region. This is Conrail at its best as those big blue locomotives highball the tonnage along the high speed Chicago Line.
