Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh by-poll, a rift has emerged between the Congress and Samajwadi Party over seat-sharing. Sources have informed India Today that the Congress has demanded at least five seats, but the Samajwadi Party is only willing to offer two. The Congress is reportedly unhappy with this offer, leading to tension within the India bloc. The Samajwadi Party has already declared seven out of the nine seats that will see polling, leaving only Ghaziabad and Kher for the Congress.
