At the end of the week, the VA Outpatient Clinic in Schenectady is set to close.
CBS6 previously reported on the closure back in March when the VA first announced the closure.
Now, federal lawmakers are making one last effort, calling on the VA for more transparency ahead of the closure.
Federal lawmakers, including Paul Tonko, Chuck Schumer, and Kirsten Gillibrand, sent a letter to the VA last week saying “vanishingly little detail or communication has been made available to veterans or the broader public in the Capital Region. The lack of communication has raised concerns about the burden this disruption will place on veterans with ongoing care. Five months have passed since the announcement of the closure.”
