Florida Atlantic University celebrated its summer commencement by awarding nearly 1,800 degrees, including more than 47 to graduates over the age of 50 and eight to those over 60.
Among the graduates, 222 are first-generation college students, and 50 earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. They now join a proud network of more than 216,000 FAU alumni worldwide since the university welcomed its first class in 1964.
All three ceremonies featured keynote speaker Carly Yoost, co-creator and board chair of Child Rescue Coalition, a nonprofit that develops technology to help law enforcement track online predators. An FAU alumna, Yoost was honored with the FAU President’s Distinguished Service Medallion in 2019 and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023.
