Florida Atlantic University celebrated a historic spring commencement, conferring a record 4,347 degrees across eight ceremonies at the Boca Raton campus. These graduates now join a network of more than 223,000 FAU alumni since the university’s founding in 1964.
“Sixty-five years ago, Florida Atlantic enrolled fewer than 4,000 students. Today, we're a Top 100 public university awarding more than 4,000 degrees in a single semester, our largest graduating class in history,” said FAU President Adam Hasner. “We are immensely proud of our spring graduates for their hard work, their achievements and the role they play in driving our university’s remarkable momentum. Congratulations, Class of 2026 and Owls Up!”
Commencement by the numbers:
• 521 first-generation graduates
• 219 graduates with a 4.0 GPA
• 88 countries represented
• 96 graduates over age 50, including 16 over age 60
• Youngest graduate: 17 | Oldest graduate: 69
• 12 FAU High School students earned their bachelor’s degree before receiving their high school diploma
This year’s ceremonies also recognized Brittany Bowe with the President’s Distinguished Service Medallion, FAU’s highest honor, for her outstanding contributions to the university and broader community.
