When you start looking into buying gold, the word "premium" comes up everywhere — and it's rarely explained. This video breaks it down simply.

Premium is the amount you pay above the spot price of gold. It's not a hidden fee — it's the real cost of manufacturing, distribution, and bringing physical gold to market. Every gold product carries one.

Here's the key insight: the smaller the product, the higher the premium as a percentage. A 1-gram gold bar can carry a premium of around 10%, while a 100-gram bar might be closer to 1-2%. Same gold. Very different cost per gram.

Understanding premiums helps you buy smarter — whether you're stacking coins, bars, or both.
