Why did I want to talk with Stevie Joffe? I came across Stevie's band The Birds Of Bellwoods, and their new album Everything You Want. I was enthralled by the lyrics on the album that dealt with a lot of mental health-related issues. Stephen Joffe is an actor best known for his work in Overruled! (2009), Alias Grace (2017), and Frequency (2000). He was born in Toronto and graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada in 2012. Stephen is the lead singer of the Toronto-based alternative rock band Birds of Bellwoods.
Stevie and I shared an amazing conversation that includes talking about the various lyrical themes on the album. How being a touring band can be a gift and a curse on one's mental health.
We also discuss how Stevie has gone through periods of contemplating his own substance use and foresees that his life may benefit from total sobriety.
