Theresa Claiborne was the first Black woman pilot in the United States Air Force and an industry trailblazer for diversity and inclusion. Claiborne gave the keynote address at the 2024 Faces of the Industry: Discussions in Aviation Diversity event.
Claiborne’s career spans more than 20,000 flight hours, flying everything from KC-135 Stratotankers in the Air Force to Boeing 787s for United Airlines. She soloed her first aircraft on May 20, 1981, launching her into a lifelong career in aviation.
