In this video, Dr. Roseen Giles, the Mrs. Alexander Hehmeyer Associate Professor of Music at Duke, plays the flute in J. S. Bach's Second Orchestral Suite. She will be playing the same piece in the next concert in our Bach Cantata Series on February 15, at 5:00 p.m. Free admission.

The concert pairs the music of Bach with the French composer Henri Dumont. The Chapel's conductor-in-residence, Dr. Philip Cave, conducts with performances by Dr. Giles, Chapel Organ Scholar Dr. David Lim, vocalists, and the Mallarmé Music ensemble.

Pieces by Dumont include:
* "Super flumina Babylonis"
* "Litanies de la Vierge."

Compositions by Bach include:
* "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland," BWV 61,
* Orchestral Suite No.2 in B minor
* Pièce d'Orgue, BWV 572

Learn more about the music in a pre-concert talk at 4:00 p.m. in the Divinity School's Goodson Chapel.

Families with young children, or those unable to attend the performance, are welcome to visit the dress rehearsal on Saturday, February 14, between 1:30 and 4:00 p.m. in Duke Chapel.
