Bringing our character’s personality to life is one of the primary goals and challenges of character design.
Our job as a Concept Artist is to engineer the viewer’s perception of a character. Every detail we paint into our character’s face can subconsciously tell the viewer who they are looking at and how they should feel about them. It’s pretty powerful stuff.
In this 10 minute video, I challenge you to practice creating a character and their personality—and bringing that character's story to life through details like posture and expression.
