Can we speed up the decomposition of wood chips and create compost faster? I am doing several trials to attempt to achieve this goal. Woodchips, blood meal, and horse manure are layered into a drum. The drum will then sit. More blood meal will be added if needed. Will the manure increase the decomposition rate of the wood chips resulting in compost faster? We will compare the results to a control drum and see how long it takes for the wood chips to break down.
