F1 in Schools is an amazing competition I wish was available back when I was at school. In this video, I’m joined by Team Surge, one of Australia’s representatives in the upcoming World Finals. The aim is to compare regular FDM 3D printing filaments with professionally produced SLS Nylon 12 parts, across a range of areas like surface finish, mass, accuracy and impact strength.
The results are not really that surprising to me, and remind me that an affordable and safe SLS machine for consumer use would be amazing.
Thank you to Team Surge for being a pleasure to collaborate with. Their design and engineering process is impressive, as is their organisation and communication. They provided a lot of data and media to me to aid in making this video. Go Australia!
