Caltechs 2023 Commencement speaker Danielle Allen, James Bryant Conant University Professor and director of the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University, discusses her award-winning book, Our Declaration: A Reading of the Declaration of Independence in Defense of Equality.
In Our Declaration, Professor Allen combines classical thought, personal experience, and a rigorous analysis of the Declaration of Independence to argue that this founding document is fundamentally about the equality of all people.
