This Morning | Community Comes Together to Repair Liverpool Library After Arson Attack | This Morning @thismorning | Uploaded August 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
The nation has been reeling from watching violent riots spread across the country this week, but there are people who have shown that kindness still shines through in the face of adversity. We’re meeting Alex McCormick who has raised over £200,000 to help repair a Liverpool library after it was torched by rioters on Saturday night. Alex joins us alongside a manager for Liverpool’s community libraries Mark Wareing who is so grateful for the support. Plus, we’re meeting care worker Brendan Nwabichie who after finishing a 12-hour shift discovered his car had been destroyed by rioters in Middlesbrough. Brendan was devastated as he had spent a long time saving up to buy it, but his manager Clare Collinson set up a GoFundMe page and has raised £40,000 to replace it.
