just let it be known that i really hate this video after the first 30 seconds, and i really, really hate it at the 50 sec mark. it starts out really good and i liked it when i started working on it, but then i ran out of ideas and now i'm just sick of working on it and i wanna get rid of it, so deal with the fact that it goes from good to shitty lmao
i really just wanted to make a video that focused more on copper. i absolutely love tod and relate to him immensely (duh), but copper is a very overlooked character in the fox and the hound. he's honestly very complex and his dilemna, having to choose between his childhood friendship with tod and his new career as a hunting dog and the approval of chief and amos is a really striking conflict that is very mature for a kids' movie. i found that this song fits tod and copper, especially copper, very well.
as you can see, i experimented a lot with small bouts of effects and text in this, and i'm actually very proud of how the text came out, especially for "i've tried before/try again". i kind of had copper and tod as the two "voices" in the song, tod trying to convince copper to hold out hope for their friendship, and copper holding strong to his pessimism. i wanted to add more text but i'm lazy, ahaha.
also yesterday was conor murphy's birthday (the lead singer of foxing) so hbd conor! i don't really listen to tiny moving parts all that much but i adore this song cuz conor's in it, i wouldn't have come up with the back and forth conversation style of this video if not for the fact the song has 2 vocalists.
i hope you all enjoy even though this video becomes garbage about halfway through. hopefully the next thing i upload isn't half assed and actually has decent effort put into it. i'm kind of going through a depressive slump right now even though it doesn't really matter
