I've said it before, and its still true now, I don't like working on tape decks. The mechanical nature of them mixed with fragile wires and analogue circuitry makes them tricky to figure out exactly which one of those aspects is the problem. But I'm getting better at fixing them now just by sheer weight of numbers, and for your delectation here are a few C2N C64 decks that needed to be brought back to life.
