Commissioner Boles presents a Commendation Recognizing The Mac Parkman Foundation. The Commendation reads as follows;
The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize the Mac Parkman Foundation on the occasion of the Third Annual International Summit on Repetitive Brain Trauma, bringing together researchers, medical professionals, athletes, advocates, and community leaders.
Since its founding, the Mac Parkman Foundation has been dedicated to protecting brains and saving lives by advancing awareness, research, education, and advocacy surrounding brain health and the prevention and treatment of brain injuries. Through its work, the foundation advocates for safer sports, improved treatments, and greater understanding of brain health, with a particular focus on athletes, veterans, children, and others impacted by brain injuries. From Sept. 16 to Sept. 17, 2026, the nonprofit organization will host its Third Annual International Summit on Repetitive Brain Trauma at the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) in downtown Tampa. The event will provide an important forum for advancing dialogue, sharing research and emerging knowledge, and raising awareness of the effects of repetitive head impacts and their potential long-term consequences. The Mac Parkman Foundation’s continued investment in education, research, and community partnerships reflects its unwavering commitment to improving brain health and protecting the well-being of future generations.
The Board of County Commissioners of Hillsborough County, Florida does hereby commend the Mac Parkman Foundation for its dedication to advancing brain health, promoting safer sports, supporting research and treatment, and raising awareness of brain injuries, and wishes the foundation continued success.
